Inspired by Panamanian heritage and a love of the quintessential spirit, La Zafra is an AAF Award-winning rum brand designed to pay homage to Panamanian culture and Caribbean tastes. La Zafra is based in the Panamanian town of Chitre as a small family-owned alcohol purveyor that has since expanded. This brand identity is designed to support beautiful local artwork and photos, presenting an affordable but classy option for a drink on the shelves.

Process
La Zafra's packaging is built to heavily incorporate digital illustration and design. It features artwork inspired by Panamanian culture, and that artistic label also serves to differentiate La Zafra from the dozens of other rum brands on the shelves.
I created an elegant package for the La Zafra Blackstrap 20 Year, which is La Zafra's special limited edition release bottle. I also designed a label for La Zafra Infierno, a signature high-proof rum made using Jamaican techniques. Both use a similar label shape and illustrative style, maintaining a cohesive brand image.
